Jenkins and Pipeline: Continuous Integration for FreeBSD

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This talk will describe how Jenkins and Pipeline were used to set up continuous integration and OS-level testing for FreeBSD, a free and open-source Unix-like operating system.

FreeBSD is a free and open-source Unix-like operating system, available since 1991. It is used by many companies, in diverse areas including storage, networking and video streaming. Users of FreeBSD value its stability and robustness.

This presentation will describe how the FreeBSD project uses Jenkins and Pipeline to: - Build an operating system image for every commit done - Boot the image in a virtual machine - Run thousands of unit tests for the operating system - Provide the test results in the Jenkins test result viewer

This continuous integration workflow helps FreeBSD developers find and fix problems in the operating system more quickly.
